Pre-folded banquet napkins with a built-in flatware pocket
Singular pocket napkins are pre-folded disposable banquet napkins with an integrated sleeve that holds a knife-and-fork set. Made from premium airlaid paper with a linen-like texture, each one is 15.75″ × 15.75″ unfolded and arrives folded to a finished rectangle, so a cover is set in one motion instead of four. Supplied in packs of 50 across 16 colors, sold by the case, with custom quotes above 21 cases or 5,000 napkins.
Every venue wants the pocket fold and almost none of them run it, because a proper one takes roughly forty seconds a napkin by hand. That is a labor line, not a preference, and it is the only thing standing between most banquet rooms and a uniform cover. This product removes the fold from the prep schedule entirely. The arithmetic is below.
What the format does on the floor
The napkin arrives folded to a finished rectangle with an open sleeve across the face. Staff slide in a knife and fork and the cover is complete. No folding station, no training, no variance between the person who set table four and the person who set table eleven.
Zero prep labor — no folding, rolling, or assembly before service
Identical across every cover, which is what a banquet standard actually means
No training required — agency and temp event staff set a room on arrival
Replaces wrapped silverware for operations currently rolling cutlery into flat napkins
Holds the fold because airlaid takes a crease; tissue collapses under the same handling
Unfolds to a full 15.75″ napkin, so it still performs as a working napkin through the meal
What hand-folding actually costs per service
A pocket fold runs about forty seconds once someone is quick at it. Applied across a room, that is the number worth putting in front of whoever signs off on prep hours:

Apply your own loaded labor rate and the figure speaks for itself. Two points usually get missed in that calculation. The folding happens in the window immediately before service, which is the most expensive hour of the day to spend on anything. And it recurs on every re-set during an evening, so a room turned twice carries the cost twice.
The consistency argument, separately
Labor is the easy half. The harder problem with a hand-folded room is variance: three people folding to three slightly different standards, and the guest at the end of the table gets a cover that does not match the one in the photograph. Pre-folding removes that failure mode completely, which matters most in exactly the operations where it is hardest to control — events staffed by agency labor, rooms set by whoever is available, and venues running several functions in a day. Specifying the fold out of the process is cheaper than inspecting it back in.
What the sleeve carries besides cutlery
The pocket is sized for a knife-and-fork set, but operationally it is a clean, repeatable place to put one item in front of every cover:
Printed menu cards — removes a stand or a loose card from every place setting
Place cards for assigned seating across a banquet room
Pre-filled cutlery sets at the head of a buffet line, so guests collect one item instead of three
Seasonal greenery — the lowest cost-per-cover decoration available to a venue
Course-specific service pieces, chopsticks or a dessert spoon
Table numbers or escort cards for functions with structured seating
Buffet lines benefit most: a stack of pre-filled pocket napkins at the end of the line replaces a cutlery tray, a napkin dispenser, and the restocking both generate across a service.

A venue running 5,000 covers a year crosses the 5,000-napkin custom-pricing threshold on a single annual order, and a banquet operation at that volume monthly crosses it every month — so the quote conversation is usually worth having before the first case.
One practice worth copying from banquet service: set covers with pocket napkins and hold flat dinner napkins in reserve. A guest who needs a second napkin mid-meal is handed a fresh one, and the plated setting stays intact rather than being rebuilt.
Sixteen stock colors
White, Ivory, and Natural for standing service and anything formal. Silver, Black, and Navy where the cover needs weight. Light Blue, Green, Kiwi Green, and Yellow for daytime and seasonal functions. Terracotta, Raspberry, Red, Peach, Pink, and Gold where the napkin carries the event's color.
Two operational notes. The fold presents one clean unbroken face to the guest, so color reads harder here than on a flat napkin — there is no crease or pattern competing with it. And for a venue, holding two stock colors covers most of a calendar: a neutral for standing service and one accent you rotate by season or by client brief.
Custom printing
The folded face is a flat, unbroken panel facing the guest for the length of a meal, which makes it the strongest print surface in the range. A venue mark, a crest, a corporate logo for a recurring client, or a monogram and date for a wedding package — centered on every cover, visible without the napkin being unfolded.
For venues selling branded events, this is the cheapest per-impression piece in a function. See custom branding for artwork requirements, minimums, and lead times, which run longer than stock colors.
Ordering, tiers, and samples
Pocket napkins are sold by the case in packs of 50, with volume tiers on the page above. Orders above 21 cases or 5,000 napkins are quoted directly, which is where most venue, hotel, and catering accounts land and where recurring-order terms are set.
Request a sample before a first case. The fold is the product, and whether the sleeve seats your actual flatware — and how the finished cover looks under your room's lighting — is not something a product photograph settles. Request samples or open a wholesale account for pricing against your volume.
Store cases flat and dry, off the floor, away from steam, dish pits, and direct heat — airlaid takes on ambient moisture in a humid back-of-house and the fold relaxes with it. Keep unopened packs sealed; stock rotates first in, first out, though shelf life is effectively indefinite when dry.
Pre-fill the pockets during an off-peak window rather than days ahead. Filled napkins stack less evenly and the fold softens under sustained weight, but moving that step out of the pre-service hour is most of the scheduling benefit — a room can be prepped in the morning for an evening function. Each napkin is single-use and needs no laundering. They are compostable where composting accepts paper, so confirm what your waste contractor takes, and they should not be flushed: airlaid holds strength when wet, which is exactly why it does not belong in plumbing.
