Plan custom printed cocktail napkins for your bar or restaurant: size, material, color, artwork tips, quantities and a 2-3 week production timeline.
Updated September 29, 2026
Custom printed cocktail napkins are small napkins carrying your logo, monogram or artwork, handed to guests with every drink. To do them well, choose a linen-like napkin that holds up to condensation, pick a napkin color that makes your artwork readable, prepare clean artwork, and allow two to three weeks for production after artwork approval.
This guide is for bar managers, restaurant owners, wineries and event venues anywhere in the United States who want branded napkins without guesswork. It covers why custom napkins work, how to choose size, material and color, how to prepare artwork, and how to plan quantities so you never run out mid-season.
Every guest who orders a drink touches a cocktail napkin. It sits under the glass, in the guest's hand and on the table for the length of the visit. That makes it one of the few branded touchpoints that is both useful and unavoidable.
Research on branded items supports the instinct. The Promotional Products Association International's Product Power 2026 consumer study of more than 5,000 U.S. respondents found that about 83 percent say receiving a branded item makes them feel appreciated, and 90 percent agree it improves their perception of the brand. That study covers promotional merchandise in general rather than napkins specifically, but the principle carries over: people respond well to a branded item that is thoughtful and useful.
There is also a practical business reason. The National Restaurant Association's 2026 State of the Restaurant Industry report says operators need to deliver value and the experiences customers want while costs stay high. A napkin is a small, low-cost way to make a room feel designed.
Material decides whether your artwork looks sharp or sad. Thin paper napkins go limp as soon as they meet a sweating glass, and a soggy logo does not help your brand.
Singular's cocktail napkins are made from 55 gsm airlaid paper with a linen-like texture. Each one measures 4.75 inches square folded and opens to 9.5 inches square. According to the product page, they are lint-free, absorbent and hold their shape when wet. We call that the bar test, and you can read more about it in our air-laid vs. traditional paper article.
Custom branding is available on cocktail napkins as well as dinner napkins, pocket napkins and guest towels, so you can carry the same brand across the whole guest experience.
Contrast is the first rule. Dark artwork reads best on a light napkin, and light or metallic artwork needs a darker napkin. Cocktail napkins on the custom branding page come in these colors: White, Ivory, Natural, Sand, Peach, Pistachio, Gold, Silver, Yellow, Red, Light Blue, Olive, Lilac, Green, Burgundy, Light Brown, Navy, Pink, Raspberry, Sea Blue and Purple.
Here are a few pairing ideas to start the conversation. They are suggestions, not rules:
Ask the Singular design team for exact file requirements before you finalize anything. As a general print practice, vector artwork scales cleanly, so send a vector version of your logo if you have one. These habits also help:
Singular prints with food-safe, water-based inks. Build the lead time into your calendar, especially before a grand opening, a holiday menu or a wedding season.
The best custom napkins feel like part of a system rather than a one-off. Match the napkin color to your menu covers, coasters or signage so the bar reads as one design. If you serve food, consider printing the same logo on dinner napkins or pocket napkins so guests see consistent branding from the first drink to the last course. Event venues can offer couples or corporate hosts a monogram option, which turns a standard service item into a keepsake guests may photograph and share. Whatever you choose, keep the napkin quality consistent across every touchpoint, because a premium logo on a thin napkin sends mixed signals.
Use this planning formula: drinks served per night x napkins per drink x nights per month = napkins per month. Add a buffer for busy weekends and private events.
Here is a made-up example. A bar serves 120 drinks a night, gives out one napkin per drink and operates six nights a week. That is 720 napkins a week, or 2,880 over a four-week month. With a 10 percent buffer, you would plan for roughly 3,200 napkins a month.
Then work out your reorder point: daily use x lead time in days + safety stock. With a lead time of two to three weeks plus shipping, a bar that uses about 120 napkins a night should place its next order while it still has at least four to five weeks of stock on the shelf.
